Our Programs

The Infants, Toddlers and Twos program serve children six weeks through two years of age. We believe care for infants and toddlers are about building relationships. During these years children are discovering who they are and how others respond to them. They are also learning how to relate to others and what it means to express their feelings. In order to build a responsive relationship between children and care givers, each child is assigned to a primary care giver. This person has the major responsibility for the child’s daily care. These special one-on-one relationships are key to a child’s feelings of security and development of a positive sense of self. As children progress to the two-year-old rooms, bibs, pacifiers, bottles, and sippy cups will not be allowed.

The preschool program serves children 3 to 5 years of age at the center. Activities include language arts, science, music, social studies, art, computer skills, math, and physical development. Field trips, special visitors and cooking activities supplement the regular daily program. Children are arranged in mixed-age groups to provide children with opportunities to interact with children younger and older than themselves. Children learn a great deal from each other including nurturing, leadership, social and cognitive skills.

LTGT Child Development Center promotes a safe and healthy environment for all children and families enrolled.  All center staff and participants must understand our center is a violence-free zone for children and adults.  Verbal or physical threats made to a child, member of the staff, or other adults while on the grounds of LTGT property or its affiliates will not be tolerated and will be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Children ages 2 thru 5 years of age will be allowed to take field trips.  Parents will be notified in advance of any field trips and any fees that may be required.  The center will also provide In-House field trips for all children.  Any field trips off site will be provided by a licensed and insured bus company. Parents will be allowed and encouraged to volunteer as chaperones.

Maintenance and Cleaning of the Classroom and Facility
The classroom and facility will be cleaned and sanitized daily. Inside of each classroom, you will find a cleaning/sanitization log for the month. This log is dated daily and the classrooms, as well as, the facility will be cleaned. Toys in the infant and toddler room will be sanitized at the end of each day.

Hand Washing
All children are encouraged to wash their hands thoroughly when they enter the center, after they play outdoors or in the water or sand tables, after toileting, as well as, before and after they eat. Hand washing, as needed, is an important means of minimizing the spread of germs in the childcare setting.

Teeth Brushing
Children in our Two Year Olds and Pre-School rooms will brush their teeth after breakfast and lunch each day to promote good oral hygiene. Children will be instructed in the proper procedures. Toothbrushes and toothpaste will be provided by the center.

CPR and First Aid
At least one staff person who is CPR and First Aid certified is available on site at all times.
